Editorial Standards & Corrections

Our approach to evidence, fairness, attribution, illustrations, and correcting the record.

Updated October 15, 2026.

Evidence and fairness

TJP pursues truth, justice, and peace through independent reporting and commentary informed by Orthodox Christian faith. We aim to distinguish established facts, allegations, analysis, and opinion. We evaluate source credibility, seek relevant documents and context, and give people facing substantive criticism a reasonable opportunity to respond.

Sources and attribution

We identify sources and link supporting material where practicable. Where confidentiality is needed, the editor considers the source's knowledge, motives, corroboration, and the public interest. We do not promise confidentiality through an unsolicited email exchange; discuss sensitive material and source arrangements with the editor first. Quotations and borrowed work should be attributed. Republished work identifies its original publication.

Independence and disclosure

Editorial decisions belong to the editor. Financial support does not purchase favorable coverage or control of a story. Relevant conflicts of interest and sponsored material should be disclosed clearly in the affected publication.

Images and AI

Illustrations are visual interpretations and should not be read as documentary evidence. AI-generated artwork is identified in its credit. Photographs, publication graphics, and other borrowed images should carry appropriate attribution and permission. AI tools do not replace the editor's responsibility for verifying facts, sources, quotations, and the final published text. We do not present invented quotations, sources, or generated scenes as observed reporting.

Corrections and updates

Send a correction request to tjppress@proton.me. Include the article address, the passage at issue, an explanation, and supporting evidence or a source where possible. The editor reviews requests and makes warranted corrections. Substantive factual corrections receive a dated note explaining the change; new information may be labeled as an update. Minor spelling, punctuation, or formatting fixes may be made without a note. Disagreement with an opinion alone does not establish a factual error.

Contact and responses

Readers and people covered in our reporting may use the same address to provide additional context or request a response. Please identify the relevant article and provide a way to reach you. Read our privacy notice for how correspondence is handled.
